If the cookie is operated by another party (e.g. Facebook), the data recorded in the cookie will be sent to the operator. Such operators are separate data controllers, independent from us. Their contact details are indicated in the description of the cookie.
2. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on the hard drive of your computer or mobile device for the expiry time set in the cookie and is activated (feedback to the web server) on subsequent visits. Websites use cookies to record information about your visit (pages visited, time spent on pages, browsing data, exits, etc.) and personal preferences. This tool helps to create a user-friendly website to enhance the online experience of visitors.
Cookies are distinguished by their time, purpose and origin as follows:
2.1. Session and permanent cookies
Two types of cookies are distinguished according to their expiry date: "session cookies" and "permanent cookies".
The "session cookies" (session cookies) are stored temporarily by your computer, notebook or mobile device until the visitor leaves the website; these cookies help the system remember information so that you do not have to re-enter or fill in that information. Session cookies are limited to the duration of the user's current session and are intended to prevent data loss (for example, when filling in a long form). At the end of the session or when the browser is closed, this type of cookie is automatically deleted from the visitor's computer.
The "permanent cookies" (persistent cookies) are stored on your computer, notebook or mobile device even after you leave the website. These cookies allow the website to recognise the visitor as a returning visitor. In all cases where user authentication is essential - e.g. webshop, netbank, webmail - they are a necessary condition for correct operation. Persistent cookies do not carry any personal data on their own and can only be used to identify the user when stored in the server's database. The expiry date for permanent cookies is indicated in the cookie description.
2.2. Own and third-party cookies
If the cookie is installed on the device by our web server, it is our own cookie, whereas if the source of the cookie is code embedded in the website by an external service provider (e.g. Google), it is an external cookie.
2.3. Necessary, statistical and marketing cookies
The "necessary cookies" provides functions essential for the operation of the website (e.g.: form filling help) Since the website cannot function without the cookie, the visitor's consent is not required for its use.
The "statistical cookie" collects statistical data on how visitors use the website, what topics they view, what they click on, how they scroll through the website. This is how we know, for example, which articles are the most viewed. The use of such cookies is not strictly necessary and requires the consent of the site visitor.
The "marketing cookies" is used to display targeted, personalised advertising on various advertising platforms (e.g. Google, Facebook). This cookie analyses e.g. how and where the website is viewed, the number of visits, the videos viewed.
The exact function of the cookies is indicated in the cookie description.
